Overview Helen Foresman Spencer was the wife of Kansas City industrialist Kenneth Aldred Spencer. Following her husband's death in 1960, Mrs. Spencer became president and director of the charitable foundation which they established in 1949. This collection contains the personal papers of Ann Hyde, who worked at the Kenneth Spencer Research Library on the University of Kansas' campus for many years. Hyde played a key role in the translation of Anglo-Saxon documents discovered in the Spencer during her time as an undergraduate student. Documents relating to this discovery are included within this collection, as are correspondence, records related to her education, and other personal materials.
