This collection contains views of Russell, Kansas taken by Louie C. Walbridge, who came to Russell in 1882 and bought a nearby sheep ranch which he called Profile Ranch. The collection includes views of the main streets of Russell and of various residences. The information included in the inventory list of the photographs was written by a Russell resident in 1954. All glass plates have had corresponding prints made after the collection was received by Spencer Research Library.

This collection contains scenes of Profile Ranch, Russell County and many views of Louie Chester Walbridge's wife and children, taken by him. It includes images of farming, some interior and exterior shots of the family home and other buildings on the ranch, and some images from a Christmas holiday.
