This scrapbook is made up of papers removed from a blue binder embossed with “LWN,” which was dismantled for preservation purposes. The collection mostly consists of photocopies of newspaper clippings detailing Nesmith’s athletic career in high school and college, his career as a doctor of ophthalmology, and his death in a private plane crash. Transcripts and programs from his memorial service are also included.

This collection includes a scrapbook of Nesmith’s 1935 football season at the University of Kansas and a transcript of Nesmith’s dictated memories used in Mike Fisher’s biography, Deaner: Fifty Years of University of Kansas Athletics.
