This collection contains manuscript material, photographs, negatives, and slides of, about, or containing the work of Lawrence, Kansas-based photographer Gary Mark Smith, as well as other related materials regarding his career and family.

Overview In the early 1980s, several young adults from Lawrence, Kansas wished to bolster the music scene in the area. As a result, two separate music festivals were created. In 1982, the Committee for the Preservation of Wild Life in Lawrence was established and began hosting the annual festival Mega Keggar, which would later become the Omega Outdoor Music Festival.
