Reasons against a peace with the Moors, [1676]

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 4

Scope and Contents

Mentions author's experience at Galan's defeat in 1666. Begins: "I humbly offer as my opinion from experience I have had in Tanger, that a peace with the moors (exclusive to Sally) has even been obnoxious to these following inconvenience. Chargable, Unprofitable, Dangerous & uncertaine."

Numbered by previous owner: 3.

Authorship: Bookseller attributes to Creed, but it seems unlikely: text mentions "1666 uppon Galans Defeat at Alkazar...three men who agt my order went out of the Lynes..." Presumably the bureaucrat Creed merely passed it on.
