Page [26] again mentions Mr. Pope; page [27] indicates a stone was "placed over them upon condition that we furnish the epitaph which is as folows: When eastern lovers..." [6 lines]. "But my Lord is apprehensive the country people will not understand this, and Mr Pope says he'll make one with something of scripture in it and with as little poetry as Hopkins and Sternhold. Yours &c. THE END."
