South Lawrence Trafficway

 Series — Box: 37-38
Call Number: RH MS 1389

Scope and Contents

Records related to the controversial highway construction project proposed to divert some K-10 highway traffic south of Lawrence, Kansas, and around the city to connect with residential areas to the west. Environmentalists objected, as did the Haskell Indian Nations University community, and several lawsuits were filed to stop the project. A revised project plan was implemented after Moore's retirement from Congress.
