Scope and Contents
Grant of tithes in frankalmoigne of Gwent by Hubert de Burgh, justiciar of England, presumably as Lord of the Three Castles, to the monks of Abbey Dore, Herefordshire of the tithes "from all his assarts in his forest of Grosmont called Severenny for the good of his soul and that of his wife Margaret.
Incipit: Universis sancte natris Ecclesie filiis ad Quos presentes littere pervenerint."

Grosmont: Grosmont castle overlooks the vale watered by the river Monnow and bounded by the lofty mountains of the Craig, Saverney, and the Garway.
Ordnance survey shows opposite Garway Hill, Graig Syfyrddin, also spelled Graig Serrerthin.
Physical details: some endorsements; almost whole seal on tag. Orange, round, approximately 4.5 cm, two-sided. Obverse: Equestrian figure bearing lozengy cgules3 et vair. Reverse: Hubert de Burgh's arms.
