Includes photocopies of the following materials relating to Frank Marshall Davis possibly held in the Morse Department of Special Collections at KSU: 1932 newspapers with articles on communism, including a column by Davis in The World; The Crisis Vol 41 No 4 with a section by Davis on communism; Writers Take Sides 1938 with a blurb by Davis against fascism; Pacific Record article July 1, 1948 and other mailings and communications. Also includes Tidwell's notes on Davis and communism, information on the 1949 Longshore Strike and 1946 sugar strike, and photocopies of books and articles about communist publications, including "We are Not What We Seem: Rethinking Black Working-Class Opposition in the Jim Crow South" by Robin D. G. Kelley, "I'm Only in Black" by Sanford Zalburg, and a portion of The Specter of Communism in Hawaii by T. Michael Holmes. Many items in folder stamped with different repository names.
