Scope and Contents
A legal treatise on the history and functions of the High Court of the Star Chamber. The volume has been ascribed to William Hudson (died 1635). Incipit:"I cannot but with Admiracon reuerence the graue Judgmt of the Sages..." Explicit: "...Diuinum sit potius quam humanum. Bracton follio. 1 Cap: 1."

1 volume : Binding: Vellum (apparently dissected in search of manuscripts). 4 tawed bands, snapped apart in front. No binding title. Foliation: Leaves [i-vi] and 1-267 [268-269]. At least one leaf missed in numbering. Material: Paper. Script: Several rough, hasty secretary hands, with corrections. (Perhaps copied in pecia-style?)

Bookseller: "From the Brudenell papers at Dene Park, Northamptonshire." Front board marked in pencil on vellum turn-over: "Xviii.C.14"; in pencil on exposed cardboard: "D.6.13" and "527."
