Biography of Alfred G. Phillips

Alfred (Fred) G. Phillips (1895-1976) spent his early years in Missouri. After serving in the Signal Corps during WWI, he met Eva Lathrop Phillips. They were married in 1924. Phillips built a house for her on his family's property in Merriam, Johnson County, Kansas. He worked for the railroad as an agent for the Frisco line in Ellsworth, Kansas and then in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Phillips was involved in many veteran organizations and other civic and social organizations, including Boy Scouts.
