Autographs of American Congressmen and statesmen colected by Anna Louisa (Cheesbrough) Ingalls. Handwritten (some autographs pasted in), letter from Charles Sumner (1811-1874) to "My dear Sir," undated, and M. R. Waite [Morrison Remick Waite (1816-1888)] to Senator Ingalls, dated March 30. Volume inscribed "Mrs. J. J. Ingalls Kans."

Mrs. Ingalls collected autographs from politicians who served in Congress and other prominent people with whom she had contact. A letter from Charles Sumner may have been written to Senator Ingalls and has a note in another hand dated March 13, 1874, regarding flowers at Sumner's funeral. The letter from M. R. Waite to Senator Ingalls regards "...the appointment of Registers [unintelligible] Bankruptcy [sic] in Kansas..." Both of the letters are tipped into the autograph book.
