Approximately half the box is correspondence and financial documentation for the Douglas County Bankers' Association, dating from the late 1920s through early 1940s when W.E. Decker, an employee of the Lawrence National Bank, was Secretary for the association. Much of the correspondence is with the Kansas Bankers' Association and concerns the vigilantes committee. The rest of the box contains real property records, estate documentation, tax information, and other records for what appears to be individual bank customers or from situations involving the bank as one party or as a trustee.These materials appear to date from the 1870s-1880s.
