London. Draft of letter to Robert Shee. Mr. Dolliffe's study of salt fish consumption in Mexico: many small poor fish from lake; some poor pickled fish from seacoast. Red herring etc. presented to Viceroy well received. Need King of Spain's permission for white and red herring, salted salmon, and Cabillio; augment his revenues, thankful populace and reconcilable with Assiento. Dolliffe says Indians prohibited any clothing except imitation Highland Plaid, thus limiting commerce. Yours of 29 November NS received
