1361: Looking E. down the ice-choked Windy River just before the break-up, from a bluff 1/4 mile above the mouth. Black spruce, Dwarf Birch, Calamagrostis canadensis. 1364: A canoe party setting out from Windy River on a trip to the Kazan River. Fred Schweder, Jr., Rita ([Inuit]), Mike Schweder, and Anoteelik ([Inuit]). (Charles Schweder, at stern not included.) 1368: Barren Ground Caribou trails on the side as 50-foot ridge west of the mouth of Little River. Black spruce, dwarf birch, Empetrum. [Edited with strikeouts and insertions to read: "Caribou trails on the 50-foot-high Little River Ridge. Picea mariana, Betula."]
