1387: Savannah Sparrow's nest with 5 eggs, in a tussock of sphagnum, dwarf birch, and Andromeda, in a sedge bog. Nest lined with fine grasses; cup 58 mm wide, 36 mm. deep. 1388: A tundra pond ('Eider pond'), looking S to the Windy Hills. Black spruce, tamarack, Cladonia. 1389: A stone enclosure ('Pile o' Rocks') as a game lookout, on the summit of a Rocky Hill, looking NW. Dwarf birch, Ledum palustris, Empetrum, grass, moss, Cladonia and other lichens. [Photo number crossed out and Fig. 27 added.
