1672: Gravelly portion (on and above light-colored strip) of an ancient beach terrace on s knoll about 100 feet above Nueltin Lake. Looking N. Dwarf birch, crowberry, Vaccinium uliginosum, Cladonia, Rock lichens. 1675: Gravelly portion of an ancient beach terrace on a knoll about 100 feet above Nueltin Lake. Dwarf birch, Crowberry, Vaccinium uliginosum, Cladonia, Rock lichens. 1676: Barren Ground Caribou scats, on a carpet of Cladonia, Vitisidaea, and Vaccinium uliginosum. (Not extremely fresh.) 1677: 'Stone men' on top of a knoll about 125 feet high, looking NE. Used somewhat as scare crows to keep Caribou from passing. Crowberry, Moss, Rock lichen [Stamp of Natural History Magazine on back, along with various editing notations (mostly in pencil), including "NQ HT 3 1/2 x 2 3/4" , "2309", "82" and a circled 9 in ink.
