Fully colored proof litho print, unpublished. At foot, in pencil, "?variation of Picus occipitalis / No.47A / not pub. In / Himalaya"; although the composition is similar, the coloring of the birds is very different, the male resembling more closely the P. squamatus of Gould item 2230.
