Teaching volumes and notes, 1934 - 2013

This series contains the volumes that Kenneth Lee Irby [KLI] used for teaching, all of which are inscribed with an encircled star surrounded by KLI's name, place, and date. Most of these volumes have notes in the margins.

Many volumes had pages of notes folded into them and some contained quizzes, photocopies, and newspaper clippings. All papers folded into books have been removed and housed in the folder following the volume. A few bundles of notes were without volumes, many containing biographical information on authors. These were often labeled, in which case the folder title reflects the original label. Titles that appear [in brackets] were created by Spencer staff based on their understanding of the contents. Volumes and notes are arranged in alphabetical order of the author's last name.

The date of the books reflects the publication year of that copy, not the year that the book was released. If the notes include a date, it is often derived from the date on a quiz or a newspaper clipping.
