Summary

Devereux, Robert, 2nd earl of Essex (1565-1601). Warrant for Richard Bagott to deliver to “my deare good frende, Thomas Egerton” [i.e. Sir Thomas Egerton, the Attorney General], a brace of bucks “to be taken, and kylled within my grounde at Chartley.” Postscript and signature “Essex” in same hand. Manuscript, ink on paper folio leaf numbered “141.” 1 piece leaf 30 x 21 cm (writing on 2 pages). With photocopies of pencil notes and typescript description.
