Bernadotte, Jean-Baptiste (1763-1844), soldier who rose to be French Marshal and prince de Ponte Corvo under Napoleon; later adopted by Charles XIII, king of Sweden, whom he succeeded as Charles XIV in 1818/ Letter to Citoyen Hamelin Agent Militaire de Trieste praising his work and discussing some payments. Manuscript, ink on paper, with red wax seal. 2 pieces, 1 folio leaf 39 x 24 cm (writing on 2 pages) and 1 leaf 33 x 21 cm, copper-engraved printed portrait of J. Bernadotte, F.
