Holmes, Oliver Wendell (1809-1894). Letter to unnamed correspondent saying he is glad to be back on his native soil after a trip to Britain, which, though delightful, strained his health. Sends greetings to Dr. Donald MacAlister, who with his brother the professor "did everything to make our visit at Cambridge a pleasant one. I received the 'Eagle' including an account of my visit.” Dated Jan 17, 1887, Boston. Manuscript, ink on paper. 1 piece, leaf 18 x 12 cm (writing on 2 pages).
