Personal papers of Frank O. Marvin
Marvin taught in the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas from 1875-1915 and was the School's first Dean. This collection contains a scrapbook, notebooks, photos, and other items.

Biography of Frank O. Marvin (1852-1915)
Marvin received his A.B. in 1871 and his A.M. in 1874, both from Allegheny College. He joined the faculty of the University of Kansas as an Assistant Professor in the Preparatory and Normal Department in 1875. In 1878 he began teaching Mathematics, Physics, and Civil Engineering and rose to full professor status in 1882. In 1891 he was named the first Dean of the School of Engineering. In 1909 the building then housing the School of Engineering was named in his honor. He died in 1915.
