Overview
Manuscript commonplace book inscribed to Sarah Maria Atkinson of Gortmore, Dundrum, Ireland by her aunt Mabella on April 22, 1859. Consists of 111 pages of English-language poems identified by title and/or author, followed by an inverted 2-page table of contents. Inscriptions and poems seem to be written in the same hand, probably by an adult. Near the end of the volume are 2 small decorative sketches and a small cluster of dried botanical specimens, the latter pasted above a poem about weeds. The loose enclosures, a manuscript poem and a botanical specimen, have been removed to MS P645.
