Overview

Charles William Heigham, who flourished in the nineteenth century, copied notes on elections in Suffolk County, England, onto two sheets of paper and placed the sheets into a 1764 copy of The Suffolk Traveller by John Kirby (2nd edition). Heigham also annotated the book with notes of contested elections in the county in the eighteenth century and provided a list of Knights of the Shire 1297-1471. The book has a bookplate on the front paste down and a signature on the first flyleaf, both identifying Charles William Heigham.

In the volume are Heigham's annotations on pages 301 and 309 regarding contested elections for Suffolk County from 1702-1798. The last free flyleaf of the book contains a list of Knights of the Shire for Suffolk County from 1297 to 1471, copied 1865; at the end of the list is a note, "Copy of a List annexed to the Poll for Knights of the Shire for the Cty of Suff. taken at Ipswich, before Miles [?] Barne Esq[ui]re High-Sheriff on 29-30 June 1790. C. W. H. 1865."
