Biography of Fred Six

The Honorable Fred Six was born in 1929 to Gladys and Deal Six. He graduated Lawrence Memorial High School in 1947 and attended the University of Kansas from 1947-1951, graduating with a degree in history.

In 1951, Six joined the US Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. After the war he attended law school at KU. He ran campagins for various Republican Party politicians in the 1960s and 1970s and worked as a lawyer. He was appointed to the Kansas Supreme Court by Governor Mike Hayden in 1988, in which capacity he served until 2003.
