Copies of photographs of Emma Berg's teaching experiences at the Vinland School District 49 in Douglas County, Kansas from 1928 to 1931 and in the 1950s, including photographs of the 75th anniversary celebration in Lawrence in 1929, other teachers and administrative staff at education conferences and district meetings circa 1950-1954, and the Douglas County Youth Orchestra circa 1955.

Biography of Emma (Semple) Berg (1905-2007)
Emma Semple was born in 1905 in Topeka, Kansas to William and Rosa Fury Semple. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1928.
From 1929 until her retirement in 1962, Berg worked as a teacher and administrator in Douglas County, including as the Douglas County Superintendent of Public Instruction from 1949 to 1959. Berg also served in a number of local, state, and national teachers associations, including the Retred Teachers Association and the Retired Federal Employees Association.
Semple married George Ernst Berg on September 7, 1939, and he passed away in 1978. Emma Semple Berg passed away in 2007 at her home in Lawrence, Kansas.
