Overview

A family history/personal memoir written by Ida Faddis. The manuscript begins with the move of the Weith and Newton families to Iola, Kansas, in the 1870's and ends with Ida Faddis' retirement from public school teaching in 1954. The memoirs are mainly drawn from the reminiscences of several family members and contains some early history of Iola, Basset, Gas City, and LaHarpe, Kansas.

These six letters, received of San Francisco resident Mary MacKenzie, include five letters written from her husband John MacKenzie, a San Francisco stockbroker. He writes from LaHarpe (Allen County), Kansas regarding his activities and of various land and drilling interests there. His letters date from the fall of 1900 to spring 1901.
