Burlington (Kan.) -- History
Found in 3 records:
The Jarboe family papers, dating from 1865 to the 1950s, document the history of an upperclass, educated family over a period of three generations. The family lived throughout Kansas and Oklahoma and were involved in banking, the mercantile business, farming, and gold prospecting.
The papers of Parsons, Kansas natives Lee Clifford Smith and his wife Carrie (Lakin) Smith, are comprised chiefly of their student records from Parsons in the 1920s and 1930s, and later from the Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburg, and the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque. The collection's photographs, which are chiefly of Lee Clifford Smith, depict his years as a student athlete and his later coaching career in basketball and football.
This collection consists of copied and original correspondence, clippings, photographs, and other related materials regarding the life of Oscar Eugene Learnard, his family, and the early history of Lawrence, Kansas.
