Overview

This collection contains letters written by Captain Adna G. Clarke of Company H of the 20th Kansas Volunteers to his wife and other family members while serving in the Spanish-American War in the Philippines. Also in the collection are some ephemera from Clarke's time in the war and some news articles by and about Clarke from later in his life after he moved to Hawaii.

Overview

Albert A. Reichert, who lived for many years at Seneca, Kansas, was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, serving with the 22nd Kansas Volunteer Infantry Regiment. These papers include several of his letters of 1898, written to his parents of Holton, Kansas while he was posted at military camps in Virginia and Pennsylvania. His papers contain a small quantity of additional correspondence and his wife's funeral notice of 1951.
