Papers from the Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods (LAN) in Lawrence, Kansas. Materials include newsletters, meeting minutes, correspondence between members, and neighborhood plans. There is a particular concentration of materials focused on floodplain areas in Lawrence and stormwater management plans between 1993 and 2006, as well as materials involving both Lawrence High School and Free State High School.

Nancy Shontz served on the City Commission of Lawrence, Kansas, from 1981-1985, and worked actively with the Lawrence Preservation Alliance and the local chapter of the League of Women Voters. The collection contains her papers regarding these activities as well as other city- and county-related issues.
