This collection consists of a wide variety of materials related to map production, generated and collected by George F. Jenks, a professor of geography at the University of Kansas from 1949-1986. The collection also includes publications written by Jenks and other research and teaching materials from his career.

George F. Jenks taught in the KU Geography Department from 1949-1986. This collection consists primarily of documents collected by Dr. Jenks as part of his research and cartographic activities. Many of the files relate to computer programs used for drafting maps that were being implemented during the 1970s and 1980s. There are also files relating to weather patterns, population statistics, and farm yields.
