1598: This negative appears to be the same as Fig. 8 in Barren Ground Caribou of Keewatin. That caption reads "About 22 Caribou crossing Little River at a rapid. Chiefly does and fawns, with several bucks bringing up the rear. August 26, 1947." 1599: [caribou crossing a river] 1602: [Print comment is: Barren Ground Caribou (four does and three fawns) crossing a rapid on Little River 1/4 mi. above its mouth.] 1607: Caribou grazing at edge of river. 1609: [Print comment is: "Eight Barren Ground Caribou does and fawns coming ashore after swimming across the mouth of Little River. (Probably several shaking water off in a spray.)"]
