History of the Midland Rural Club
The Midland Rural Club of Lawrence (Douglas County), Kansas was a women's club which formed on January 24, 1904, holding its first meeting on that date. Its stated purpose was for the mutual enjoyment of its members and their families, and its membership was limited to fifteen active members. The club members elected officers and held meetings at the homes of members through May 18, 1978.

The records of the Midland Rural Club of Lawrence (Douglas County), Kansas include its treasurer's book of receipts and expenses for the period 1939 to 1978 and its book of meeting minutes from 1966 to 1978. Two folders contain various loose inserts (the club constitution, bylaws, member obituaries, funeral services, notices of wedding anniversaries) from the treasury and minute books.
