Records of the Emporia Gazette
Overview
The Emporia Gazette (Emporia, Kansas) began publication in 1890. From 1895 to 1944, the newspaper gained national prominence under its owner and editor, William Allen White, which was sustained under his son William Lindsay White's leadership from 1944 to 1973. The records in this collection consist chiefly of the Gazette's financial records from 1935 to 1971, and of many of its photographic negatives from the 1950s. Some photographic prints from these negatives are included.
