Church Women United records
The Church Women United of Lawrence, Kansas, is a group of Christian women formed to strengthen ties with each other and their churches to celebrate World Day of Prayer, Map Fellowship Day and World Community Day, and contribute to action for peace and social justice. This collection includes some of their minutes, publicity scrapbooks, publications, and issues of Churchwoman.
Community Peace House records
The Community Peace House was founded in 1985 at 204 West 13th Street, Lawrence, Kansas. It served as an educational center and clearinghouse for peace-related activities in the community. This small collection of records includes the initial proposal for founding the Peace House, informational flyers and requests for funding assistance, a newspaper clipping, a copy of the Peace Monitor and a financial statement.
