The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is an organization whose mission is to address the needs and interests of persons 50 years and older. This scrapbook of the Douglas County (Kansas) chapter of the AARP records the activites of the group with photographs, newspaper clippings and meeting minutes from 1987-1989.

The Hilda Enoch papers are those of long-time Lawrence, Kansas resident who was a member and officer of the Kaw Valley Chapter of the Older Women's League (or O.W.L.) and an active community participant.

This collection consists of the records of the Kaw Valley Chapter of the Older Women's League (O.W.L.), a group devoted to advocating for the concerns of mid-life and older women. It includes correspondence, meeting minutes and information related to programs held by the Douglas County, Kansas-based group, news clippings, some information from the larger regional and national O.W.L. organizations, and other related materials.

The Lawrence Council on Aging worked as a nonprofit organization to provide services to the aging of Lawrence, Kansas, and the surrounding vicinity, including Ottawa, Baldwin and Eudora, including coordinating meals at local churches and community centers and providing a bus service. This collection contains primarily the Council's funding records and transit logs; other documents record the weekly meal preparations.
