Scope and Contents Most slides in this grouping are undated, but according to manuscripts in the collection, the Dine-A-Mite Inn was operated by the Borgen family from 1939-1962. The interior of the Dine-A-Mite is identified by the large brick chimney and wood paneling. Slides depict patrons of all ages eating, drinking and dancing, sometimes in formal dress and/or uniforms, sometimes with leias and hats. Scope and Contents The slides in box 4 depict the Borgen family in what is assumed to be their home and at outdoor gatherings. These images include Christmas pictures, a wedding and pictures of kids sledding, swimming and hula hooping. One set of slides were labeled “Pin Party Pt. 1” but the slides show people in lawn chairs with a black puppy. Scope and Contents This box contains pictures of sports-related events in and around Lawrence, Kansas. One set of slides labeled “Pin Party Pt 2” depicts a parade celebrating the University of Kansas (KU) in downtown Lawrence in what appears to be the 1940s or 1950s. There are a few shots of a baseball game at the Kansas City Municipal Stadium stamped August 1960.
