This group portrait was taken at a convention between the years 1921 and 1925, the heyday of Ku Klux Klan activity in Kansas. It is possible that this photograph was taken at one of several sites including Topeka, El Dorado, Pittsburg, Emporia, or as suggested by a banner in the photograph, Leavenworth.

L. H. Tragelles letter
L. H. Tragelles (possibly Trazelles or Inazelle), writes from the Gaity Theatre in Dublin on January 29th to an unknown recipient. The writer, currently a pantomime performer, thanks the recipient for kind remembrances and wishes and encloses a program (not included) as an example of the work which the writer has done while traveling around the world 3 times.

Portraits and group photographs of Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota Native Americans at and near the Rosebud Indian Agency, South Dakota and Forts Robinson and Niobrara, Nebraska. Also includes photographs of the United States 7th Cavalry at Wounded Knee. Many of the photographs were taken by J.A. Anderson. Terms and language used on the photographs are representative of when the images/text were created and has not been replicated in this finding aid whenever possible.
