Sibyl S. McDonald collection
Sibyl S. McDonald describes the early settlement of Wyandotte County, Kansas, and explains the U.S. government reparations to the Delaware Native Americans in 1972 for lands taken in 1854, when Kansas territory opened to Euro-American settlement. The collection includes McDonald's handwritten letter of reminiscences and a small number of newspaper clippings about her Grinter-Marshall ancestors and about the Delaware Tribe.
Sidney Clarke letters
Sidney Clarke was born in Southbridge, Massachusetts on October 16, 1831. He was the editor and publisher of the Southbridge Press from 1853 to 1857. He emigrated to Kansas in 1858 and settled at Shawnee. He became a member of the state legislature in 1862 and was a United States Representative at Large, 1865-1871. The collection includes three letters to Charles Lanman, editor of Dictionary of the U.S. Congress (1858), and a portrait of Clarke at RH MS-P P226.
Sierra Club of Kansas records

Signal Oak photograph
This collection consists of a single photograph of the "Signal Oak," a tree north of Baldwin, Kansas on the Barricklaw farm used to hang signal lanterns in times of danger in the Big Hill and Blue Mound areas during the Border Wars between Kansas and Missouri. S.C. Barricklaw is also featured in the photograph, and there is a news clipping associated with the image.

Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone (1830-1917), 3rd baronet and barrister-at-law, writes from 11 Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, S. W. [London, England], to an unidentified recipient about arrangements for documents to be signed. He notes that his friend, the Honorable Malcolm Brown, an administrator, will provide assistance.

Social Service League records
Founded in 1863 to help survivors of victims of William Quantrill’s raid, the Social Service League serves low-income families and individuals of Douglas County, Kansas, and operates a thrift shop. The collection is comprised of two volumes, dating from 1929-1939, which contain the minutes of meetings, financial information, clippings and a 1937 photograph of the thrift shop.
