These oral interviews were conducted by Henry McCarthy, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Psychology, University of Kansas for his doctoral research regarding testing a theory of reminiscences. The interviews were conducted over a twelve month period. Standardized questions were asked of all respondents.

Collection of photographic prints and postcards showing race relations in Kansas and Oklahoma at the end of the 19th century through the first half of the 20th century. These images were bought in sets by Kenneth Spencer Research Library and compiled into a single collection. The collection also includes some images from the 1908 Springfield, Illinois race war.

Collection on Emmanuel Evangelical Church, Stull, Kansas
The Emmanuel Evangelical Church, Stull, Kansas, was a 19th-century structure whose site inspired many 20th-century occult legends. The church was demolished in 2002. This collection regarding the Church was a result of research done for a University of Kansas architecture course project; it contains newspaper clippings, drawings by the architecture class, photos and journals of students who worked on this class project.

Norman Yetman is a professor of American Studies and Sociology at the University of Kansas. He collected this material from National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) teams in order to survey the integration of racial minorities in intercollegiate athletics. This collection includes media guides, statistics sheets, public relations information, and other publications and materials solicited from athletics departments at American colleges and universities.

Eugene Nelson Sanctuary (right-wing publisher, editor, writer) materials include correspondence (with Elizabeth Dilling, Austin Hancock) and typescripts of material written by Sanctuary (1930s-1940s). H.F. Pritchard materials include correspondence (1948-1965), files of background information, and clippings on various groups and individuals.
"Colonel John Gideon Haskell" biographical sketch
This handwritten 11-page biographical sketch of Kansas architect John Gideon Haskell (1832-1907) gives a brief account of Haskell's New England ancestry and sketches his distinguished career achievements in Kansas, including his service as state architect and as quartermaster general. The biography is unsigned and undated, though the content dates to approximately 1900.
Colonel McClure World War II scrapbooks
Colonel Clinton McClure was senior army instructor for the Missouri National Guard. In 1944 he was sent to China to assist the Chinese Nationalist Armies. These scrapbooks document his experiences in China.

This pocket notebook contains handwritten records of receipts and disbursements of the Colored Business Club of Alexandria (Rapides County), Louisiana for the period August 1935 to November 1936--Charles Glenn serving as club president. Names of members are included. The notebook also contains undated student notes regarding human physiology.

Community Mercantile oral history transcripts
Collection of oral interview transcriptions as part of a project "Not for Profit: an Oral History of the Community Mercantile, a Natural Food Cooperative in Lawrence, Kansas" by Tom Kreissler. Kreissler interviewed 64 people involved in the early days of the Community Mercantile either as an organizer, founding member, volunteer, or staff member.
Community Peace House records
The Community Peace House was founded in 1985 at 204 West 13th Street, Lawrence, Kansas. It served as an educational center and clearinghouse for peace-related activities in the community. This small collection of records includes the initial proposal for founding the Peace House, informational flyers and requests for funding assistance, a newspaper clipping, a copy of the Peace Monitor and a financial statement.
