After Inge's suicide in 1973, Shuman corresponded with Inge's sister, Helene Inge Connell. The collection includes letters from Inge to Shuman, one letter from Shuman to Inge, and two letters from Inge's sister to Shuman.

The Countryside Garden Club held its first organizational meeting in 1953 with the intent of bringing together women in Lawrence, Kansas, who were interested in gardening. The collection consists of the meeting minutes, photographs, and other official records of the Club, as well as some information related to its members.
