Multiplication Table from the 16th century used as a binding fragment
When the contemporary binding of Spencer Library's 1508 edition of Ptolemy's Geographiae was repaired in the middle of the 20th century, this strip of paper was removed from the binding. There is a multiplication table in column form on the recto of the strip of paper and the verso is blank. The volume was printed in Rome by B. V. de Vitalibus.

This collection contains the records of M.L. Mun and the Tanner family, personal papers of Mary Mun Tanner, and photographs. It also includes correspondence of E. William Tanner and Mary Mun Tanner during courtship and first years of marriage, from 1897-1902, the bulk of which is sent and received within Oklahoma Territory. Also includeded are a body of letters and receipts primarily sent from within California Territory, and later California state.

It ends with equivalent of leaf 132 verso of the printed version. Either copied from printed version or from a common source, this volume does not include a title-page (in Spanish) of printed version or its preface, or table of headings, or the addena (Diferencia) printed at the end of part 2.
Muster-out rolls of Company D of the Sixth Kansas Cavalry
Two 1865 muster-out rolls of Company D, Sixth Regiment of the Kansas Cavalry at Fort Scott, Kansas. The company was commanded by Captain David Goss. Rolls include the soldier's name, rank, age, and whether he was mustered-out or died in the service.

My Dear Little Penny, an autobiographical letter about Neil Thomas Mitchell
This letter was written to the author's great granddaughter, who at the age of 11 was assigned the task of gathering information about an "older" person by her Girl Scout leader. Mitchell relates his life on a farm in Osage County, Kansas, his abbreviated education, the birth of his first child, and a summary of his local political activities.
My Own Experience
In this memoir, written on 304 numbered leaves, Rosa B. "Rose" Garrison Hawkins, born in 1870, recalls her early years on her parents' farm in McLean County, Illinois, her elopement and marriage at age fifteen, her life as a homesteader in western Kansas and southeastern Colorado, and her return to Illinois in 1890. Her account, extending from early childhood to 1896, details the many harrowing hardships which she and her husband endured as homesteaders and overland travelers.

The collection includes extensive photographs and newspaper articles pertaining to the July 1951 flood. Personal scrapbooks and correspondence are also included.
Myrtle Arvilla Trent papers
Contains a brief autobiography by Myrtle Arvilla Trent, including details about her early years in Hartville, Oklahoma living in a family-built rock house and her family's move to Arkansas, Missouri, and eventually Kansas in 1922. Also includes details about her courtship and marriage to Lucas Trent, raising her family, and helping her husband with his work at W. B. Young Wholesale Company, the lives of her children, and a flood in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1929.

N. Goupile letter
N. Goupile writes to an unknown recipient whom he misses. He mentions Lord Charles Hay of Linplum (1700?-1760) and a visit to France. Goupile requests that the recipient help get some funds to a relative and says that Mr. Hotham will assist in the transaction. As he closes, Goupile notes that his wife gave birth to another son a month ago and that the family has great trust in and respect for the recipient. Goupile appears to be writing from Prestonpans, Scotland.
Nancy Kassebaum Baker campaign materials
Nancy Kassebaum Baker was born in Topeka, Kansas in 1932 and attended public schools. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1954 and received a masters degree from the University of Michigan in 1956. She worked on various Kansas commissions and committees and in 1978 was elected to the United States Senate where she served until 1997. The materials in this collection come from her 1978 primary and general election campaign and include printed materials and audio tapes.
Nancy Porter photographs collection
This collection contains some copied photographs from Nancy Porter's family, as well as photographs from the family of A. R. Maxwell, a Wells Fargo agent who resided in Lawrence, Kansas. The first 12 photographs in the collection are later copy prints from the Porter family photographs; the rest of the collection are contemporary prints from the Maxwell family. Many of these are badly faded; most also have handwritten notes on them.
Nancy Shontz papers
Nancy Shontz served on the City Commission of Lawrence, Kansas, from 1981-1985, and worked actively with the Lawrence Preservation Alliance and the local chapter of the League of Women Voters. The collection contains her papers regarding these activities as well as other city- and county-related issues.
