Judge James Polk Sams journal
This handwritten journal by Judge James Polk Sams describes an expedition of fossil hunting in Wyoming undertaken in 1895. According to the journal, the Kansas State legislature appropriated twelve hundred dollars to Dr. W. S. Williston, to be expended in obtaining geological specimens for the State University of Kansas.

The show was done by the University of Man, located in Manhattan, Kansas, in the spring of 1975 through a grant funded by the Kansas Committee for the Humanities. Kansas 1860s diary
A single diary, probably for the years 1863-1867, includes entries from a soldier who might have been named John Adams and might have served with the 2nd Kansas Volunteer Cavalry during the American Civil War. The volume also includes what appears to be financial accounts with individuals in Trading Post, Linn County, Kansas from after the war.
