Bank statements, 1875 - 1946
Scope and Contents
This series contains reconciliation statements, coupon statements, and other related financial statements from the various accounts and banks associated with Watkins' interests in Lawrence, Dallas, and New York.
The series includes statements from 12 different banks, the two largest being the National Bank of Commerce in New York and the Watkins National Bank. In 1928, all accounts were transferred to the Lawrence National Bank, including those in the name of Elizabeth M. Watkins. After Elizabeth Watkins' death, the statements in her estate accounts were made in the care of Dick Williams.
The series is arranged by bank, with materials placed in rough chronological order. Monthly statements for many of the early years are not complete.
All transactions represented in these statements are also recorded in company journals and account books.
