This collection contains research about La Yarda and the role it played in the establishment of the Mexican-American community in Lawrence, Kansas, conducted by Brenna Buchanan for a project when a University of Kansas architecture student.

Brittendall family papers
Clarence Brittendall (b. 1872) wrote from Okeene, Oklahoma Territory to Rilla Stone (1876-1954), Brookville, Saline County, Kansas, as he made improvements on his homestead claim from the Cherokee Strip land run in September 1893. The two exchanged letters until their marriage in November 1894. This collection consists of their correspondence as well as family history notes by Caroline Dean and Bessie Dutton. Most of the letters are accompanied by photocopied transcripts.

The survey content was compiled in 1993 by Deon Wolfenbarger (Three Gables Preservation) for the Lawrence Downtown Historic Building Survey, a project for which she was commissioned by the City of Lawrence and the Lawrence Historic Resources Commission.
