Douglas County Environmental Improvement Council records
The Douglas County Environmental Improvement Council of Douglas County, Kansas was first active in the late 1960s and early 1970s; the organization was formed by private citizens who were concerned about the environment. The Douglas County Historical Society was organized in 1933 by a group headed by Professor F. N. Raymond of the University of Kansas. This collection consists of manuscript and printed materials from a variety of individuals, businesses, and organizations associated with the history of Douglas County, Kansas, from its territorial settlment period of the 1850s through much of the 20th century, deposited by the Douglas County Historical Society with the Spencer Research Library.

Douglas County (Kansas) Red Cross records
The Douglas County Chapter of the American Red Cross serves the communities of Lawrence, Eudora, Baldwin City, and Lecompton. The collection consists of drafts and prints of the 1982 newsletters. As part of the drafting process, Marcella Wolfson recounted her experiences with the DCRC from 1939-1982.

Douglas County Social Responsibilities Roundtable records
These records of the Douglas County Social Responsibilities Roundtable, an organization of Douglas County, Kansas librarians, consist chiefly of completed questionnaires from which the organization compiled a 1975 directory of the county's library facilities. Included are minutes of the organization's first meetings of 1972.
Douglas County tax certificates
There are two legal documents in this collection: a ledger sheet titled "City Tax Certificates" dated 1859, 1860, 1861, with a "County" section listed separately. The entries include date, number, street, price and name. The other item is a receipt for taxes dated December 27, 1861 from A. Whitcomb and signed by R.G. Elliott, treasurer of Douglas County.

The Douglass Hospital Auxiliary records are those of a Kansas City, Kansas organization dedicated to improving the building, equipment, and services of Douglass Hospital through volunteer efforts and fundraising. Douglass State Bank records
The Douglass State Bank was established in 1947 by Henry W. Sewing and other African American and minority businessmen interested in promoting the financial health of minority communities in Kansas City, Kansas. The collection contains historical and commemorative documents produced by the Bank, as well as related articles and correspondence. Photographs of the Bank's facility development, personnel and founders, and sponsored events make up a large portion of the collection.

Dr. H. M. Floersch Collection
This collection includes photographs of William Allen White, noted editor of the Emporia Gazette and his daughter, Mary Katherine, as well as correspondence between W.A. White, Mary Jane Haynes, and Random House, Inc. These items were found laid in books belonging to Dr. H.M. Floersch, who had collected books by White and later donated them to the Kenneth Spencer Research Library.
Dr. Mahlon Bailey diary
A "Physician's Daily Pocket Record" notebook, used as a diary by Dr. Mahlon Bailey while he was on Army duty. Bailey served as surgeon during the six-month campaign of the N19th Regiment, Kansas Cavalry Volunteers, which neutralized threats to Euro-American Plains settlers caused by Native American raiding parties in 1868. Also in the collection is a photo of Dr. Bailey.
